Modern slavery
Modern slavery is when someone had gained control over, or ownership of another person and is using this power to exploit them.
Child trafficking is when children are recruited and moved to be exploited, forced to work or sold. They can be trafficked for all sorts of reasons such as sexual exploitation, forced labour, criminal activity, forced marriage of domestic servitude.
Trafficked children experience multiple forms of abuse and are likely to be physically and emotionally neglected. They can be trafficked into the UK from abroad but can also be trafficked from one part of the UK to another.
