Domestic abuse

Domestic abuse is an incident or a pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading or violent behaviour, including sexual violence. In most cases it is perpetrated by a partner or ex-partner but can also be inflicted by family member/s or carers.

Under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, Children are survivors/victims of domestic abuse in their own right, if they see, hear or are subject to the abuse.
